Happy “Ice Cream Sundays” from New York City. For the last week, I’ve been spending time with my family, seeing shows, exploring the city, and mainly trying out new ice cream shops. Today, I’m going to share two of the locations I’ve been this week, Odd Fellows and Stuffed Ice Cream.
Odd Fellows Ice Cream Co. – Located in the East Village and Brooklyn, Odd Fellowshas high-quality, locally-sourced, hormone-free and additive-free ice creamcreated right in their Brooklyn kitchen. They feature a variety of different flavors, including their passport flavors from various countries. My cone was filled with a scoop of the Tiramisu and Santa’s Milk and Cream. Both flavors were excellent, and I look forward to going back and trying more of the options since they change their flavors on a regular basis. The highlight of the visit was the perfectly rounded ice cream scoops. The worker even joked he had to go to scoop school before he could begin his job.
Stuffed Ice Cream – Stuffed Ice Cream only opened in July, but it’s already blowing up on Instagram. This is due to their highly Instagrammable Stuffed Bouquet featuring either seven or 21 scoops of ice cream and their “Cruffs.” What’s a Cruff you ask… As defined by their website a Cruff is “a perfectly toasted, glazed donut stuffed with your ice cream flavor & toppings of choice.” And it didn’t disappoint. My Cruff was filled with Cookie Monster and White Chocolate Lavender ice cream, a sweetened condensed milk drizzle, and topped with gummy bears. Let’s just say that if I’m not eating ice cream for dinner, I’m probably eating doughnuts, so this is the perfect combination for me.
While in NYC, I also had the opportunity to go to Radio City Music Hall and see the Christmas Spectacular featuring the Radio City Rockettes. It’s a show I would highly recommend, plus it was awesome to see all the Christmas decorations in the area. And as a once in a lifetime experience, because I’d probably never wait in the line again, I met Santa at Macy’s. Of course, most of my time has been spent with my family and just enjoying my niece and nephew.
